The Process

Exploring what it would be like to start Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy?

You’ve come to the right place. Let’s set some expectations and get some explanations.

Expectations:

Length of Treatment

The length or treatment can vary from client to client. The first round of treatment typically two pre medicine sessions (intake and preparation) a session with KAP medical prescriber and six ketamine medicine sessions with integration sessions directly following each journey.

Setting

The benefit of home based treatment is that the setting is one where you already feel comfortable. I will provide all the necessary tools/items to facilitate your journey (music, eye mask, therapeutic tools etc.) and your role is to show up with and open mindset to trust and receive care and treatment (and you don’t need to clean up ANYTHING. I’m not a guest to be entertained and instead a non judgmental provider coming to you.

Making the Work, Work for You

It is recommended that you are connected with your own talk therapist or receiving some sort of additional support or coaching related to your presenting issues. I do provide KAP for my own talk therapy clients and also for clients who already have an established relationship with another provider. The work that you put into your KAP sessions will influence the benefit you will receive from the treatment.

Your Role

Your role is to be open and allow all the feelings, visions and thoughts  present during your sessions to be welcomed and explored. Curiosity is the greatest gift you can give yourself during your KAP treatment, welcoming both negative and positive emotions and experiences with an open mindset.

My Role

My role is to provide the mindset and setting that is conducive to KAP treatment and to be fully present and help guide your experience before, during and after your journey. I will take notes and reflect back to you your insights and experiences and provide a safe, helpful and healing environment in which you can maximize the benefits of Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy.

Safety & Follow Up

As a trained KAP provider, your safety (both emotionally and physically) are my top priority. We begin treatment when you feel ready and if you are not a candidate for KAP treatment, I will provide referrals to other treatments that would be more appropriate. Following each KAP session, I will check in to see how you’re feeling and gather feedback so that we both move forward with beach session in a manner that is safe, comfortable and productive.

Explanations & Information:

Intake and Evaluation

Before we get started on your Ketamine journey we will do a full evaluation and assessment to make sure your questions are answered and you’re a good candidate for treatment.

The Medicine (Ketamine)

Ketamine used for KAP treatment is in the form of sublingual lozenges that are prescribed by a medical professional engaged in KAP treatment modalities. To learn more about Ketamine check out the FAQ page.

Post Journey Integration

Directly following each session of Ketamine treatment, we will discuss and integrate your experience and leverage the gains and insights from the medicine session.

Pre-Ketamine Session Preparation

Prepaprtion for your first journey and all those that follow, is a key factor for successful KAP treatment. We will together create the setting, the mindset, intentions and expectations before your journey.

The Medicine Session aka “The Journey”

The Journey itself typically lasts 90 minutes or less and clients report feelings of safety, warmth and an increased level of openness to their thoughts and feelings. Additionally, some patients report seeing psychedelic visuals alongside their thoughts and emotions.

Follow Up

After and between each katamine session we will be in conctact to discuss any and all inisghts, changes in behaviors and coping mechanisms and tracking your mood on a daily basis.

I’m here for the journey and no matter where you start.
